Uwe Köller began his successful trumpet career in 1978, when he first became a student of Rodney Miller in Düsseldorf and later of Pierre Thibauld in Paris (until 1985). Afterwards he changed – as a scholarship holder of the “Herbert-von-Karajan-Foundation” – to Martin Kretzer (1986-1988).
After these extraordinarily inspiring years of study, he began his career as principal trumpet in the Berlin Symphonic Orchestra and was principal trumpet at the Deutsche Oper Berlin from 1991.
Since 1997, Uwe Köller has pursued a teaching career as a visiting professor at the University of Performing Arts and Music in Graz, where he has been a full-time professor of trumpet since September 2000.
Since 2003 he has also been a teacher of trumpet at the Folkwanghochschule in Essen. The enthusiastic master of his craft has been touring with GERMAN BRASS as a permanent member since 1995.
