Stefan Ambrosius (tuba) is the youngest member of the ensemble. At the age of 12, he first received tenor horn lessons from his father, later switching to the tuba. He began his music studies in 1999 at the Musikhochschule in Saarbrücken with Lennart Nord and switched to Stefan Heimann at the Musikhochschule in Stuttgart in 2001, where he graduated in 2005. As a student he was a member of the “Junge Deutsche Philharmonie” and held a temporary contract at the Stuttgart State Opera (2001 – 2005). As a substitute he made guest appearances with the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Philharmonic, the Munich Philharmonic, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and numerous opera houses in Germany. Since 2005 Stefan Ambrosius has been a tuba player and at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich and taught as assistant to Stefan Heimann at the Musikhochschule in Stuttgart from 2006 to 2015.
He has been a permanent member of GERMAN BRASS since 2007.
