Miguel García Casas was born in 1994 in Les Coves de Vinromà (Castellón, Spain), where he began his musical studies with Israel Salvador and Félix García. Simultaneously to his official studies, he participated in numerous master classes and attended “Aula de Trombón Stomvi” with Carlos Gil and Inda Bonet.
Afterwards he completed his Bachelor Degree at the Royal Music Conservatory of Madrid with Prof. Elies Hernandis, finishing with the highest qualifications and merits.
Later on he took part in the class of Prof. Ian Bousfield studying a Master of Arts in Music Performance at the Hochschule der Künste Bern, being awarded a scholarship by Dávalos- Fletcher Foundation (Castellón), BBVA/JONDE Foundation, LYRA Stiftung, Geert und Lore Blanken Schlemper Stiftung and Rita Zimmermann Musik Stiftung.
Taking part in youth orchestras like JONDE or SHMF Orchestra Academy, as well as having an internship in OSIB, OCNE and TOBS, has played a very important role in his development as an orchestra musician.
It is to consider his collaboration with some orchestras such as OSRTVE, EPOS, OSM, Le Concert des Nations, Ensemble Modern, Gürzenich Orchester Köln, Staatskapelle Berlin, Philharmonisches Staatsorchester Hamburg, HR Sinfonieorchester, Düsseldorf Symphoniker, etc. Moreover he is frequently invited to teach master classes around Europe.
Chamber music was always an important part of his development, which brought him to found ‘And The Brass’ and ‘Nineties Trombone Ensemble’. In addition he also plays frequently with the Frankfurt Chamber Brass, Salaputia Brass, ARTE (Germany) & Uwe Dierksen and Kronberg Academy.
Miguel is Principal trombone of the Frankfurt Oper- und Museumsorchester since 2018 as well as trombone teacher in the Hochschule für Musik in Mainz since the winter semester 2023.
