Jievaras Jasinskis is a trombone player, arranger and composer. He was born in 1989 in Vilnius, Lithuania. In 2008 graduated “Balys Dvarionas” music school. Four years later graduated from “Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre” (LMTA), classical trombone class. In 2021 J. Jasinskis graduated master’s degree in composition (LMTA).
Over the years Jievaras has arranged more than 1500 songs for various orchestras and bands. Among them are such bodies of work as: full arrangement for Andrius Mamontovas CD “Šiaurės naktis. Pusė penkių” (recorded in Abbey Road studios) and arrangements for two musicals (“Barbora Radvilaitė” and “Karalius Mindaugas”) written by Kipras Mašanauskas. J. Jasinskis has collaborated with artists like: Ten Walls, Linas Adomaitis, Ieva Narkutė, Lilas ir Innonime, G&G Sindikatas and Merūnas Vitulskis. He has also been arranging LRT (National television broadcaster) musical projects.
For 10 years Jievaras had performed and composed songs in a band “Bekešo Vilkai”. He also has performed with such bands as: “Inculto”, “Saulės Kliošas”, “Skamp”, “G&G Sindikatas”, “Lilas and Innonime” and many others. In 2014 J. Jasinskis has founded a band “Reinless” which performs his original pieces of music. They have released 2 studio albums “Sus Signal” (2017 CD) and “434” (2020 CD&Vynil).
In 2016 Jievaras composed music for a project named “Istorinis kadras” (silent film “Barbora Radvilaitė”, director Josef Lejtes) which was then performed live by a symphonic orchestra. The same year the composer has won in a competition (“New compositions for wind instruments and percussion”) organized by “Lithuania’s composer union”. His piece for a trombone and a piano “No one’s suit” became a compulsory piece to be performed in an international “Pakalnio” wind instrument competition.
In 2017 J. Jasinskis composed music for a musical fairy-tale “Džiazolendas”. The same year he founded another band “Lithuanian JJazz ensemble” which performs his and other Lithuanian composers’ original pieces of music. A year later he participated in an international project “EuroRadio Big Band” in Riga where he played the first trombone and performed solo improvisations.
In 2018 Jievaras Jasinskis became head conductor in Kaunas Big Band.
In 2021 Jievaras Jasinskis composed “Symphony from North Jerusalem”, 15 parts, one hour long composition dedicated to 80th years of Lithuanian Jews holocaust. Composition was performed by The Vilnius City Municipality St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra, multiinstrumentalist Yaron Cherniak (Jerusalem) and folk/classical/jazz soloists. Symphony from North Jerusalem was premiered in Presidental Palace and released as a CD album.
In 2022: Jievaras Jasinskis composed music for his debut solo album JJA Chamber Project. This program was premiered in Birštonas Jazz festival and released as a digital album. Both clasical and jazz musicians are participating in this project. Jievaras Jasinskis composed program “Vilnius Poker”, together with cinema composer Kipras Mašanauskas and it was performed by Vilnius JJAZZ Ensemble on a cinema-concert, directed by movie maker Donatas Ulvydas. Jievaras Jasinskis wrote program “Orero” for Lithuanian chamber orchestra and Georgian band “Shara”. It was performed in national philharmonics and conducted by Modestas Pitrėnas. Program consists of original composition and 6 arrangements of georgian folk songs.
In 2023: Jievaras Jasinskis composed original program “P(i)e(a)ce of Vilnius”, dedicated for Vilnius City 700 years celebration, performed by Euroradio big band in Vilnius.
