Antti Ohenoja is presently solopercussionist and timpanist of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra. Antti is also a regular performer with orchestras like the Philharmonia Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, KBS Symphony Orchestra of Seoul, Malmö Symphony Orchestra, and the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
Mr. Ohenoja was a founding member of the Oulu Percussion Group, have performed on occasion with the canadian percussion ensemble Nexus, and works in many different settings of chamber music; as xylophonist in the Dallapé ensemble, which focuses on repertoire of popular music from 100 years ago, as well as with the Avanti Chamber Orchestra which he has toured the concerthalls in Europe and US with.
He is also a member of the swedish/finnish percussion duo Vejlet AB.
Born in Finland, Mr. Ohenoja holds a Doctor of Music and Master of Music degrees from the Sibelius Academy, and a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Toronto in Canada. 2011 he received the 1st prize at the Italy PAS international snare drum competition. In recent years he held the percussion teaching position at the Lappeenranta Music School in Finland and held masterclasses in Malaysia, Canada, South Korea and Finland.
